It states 100g nutella but with your other nutella buttercream recipes it calls for equal butter and nutella. Is this a typo, should it be 300g? Thanks!!

There isn’t anything wrong – as mentioned on step four of the ganache, you have to whip the thickened ganache to make a lighter colour and this step is optional.

Yo haven’t done anything wrong – on step four it mentions whipping the ganache to make it a lighter colour. Without this, or less of this, it will be a darker colour. The colour isn’t an issue though as long as it tastes nice

Hi. I made this a few months ago (just about to make another) and I whipped the ganache. It makes it go lighter in colour and texture and in my view easier to work with.

I’ve made the ganache and put that on the top of the buttercream but isn’t a light Matt colour but the same as what the drip will be? What have I done wrong?

Do I split ganache recipe in two? Sounds too much to make X2. I am making Ferrero Rocher drip cake.

Thanks Kay

Hi Christine, I found that if you whip the ganache (after it is
all mixed together) it lightens the colour, so the cake covering would be lighter than the unwhipped drip
I only found this out after trying it, so I just make up a small
extra amount for the drip 👍

Baked today and the same happened to me in terms of being undercooked at 45mins! I foolishly didn’t bother checking with a skewer and had to bin it!

The cake mix sounds fine, it just sounds like the sponges needed longer baking! x

Can I ask, what is the consistency of the cake mix meant to be like once fully mixed? Mine seemed quite thick @ stiff - not sure if this is the way it’s meant to be..hoping you’ll respond before tomorrow as making this for a birthday for Thursday! If I make the sponges tonight (Monday) will they be ok if I do the rest tomorrow and serve on Wednesday? If so how would you store the sponge?
