So I made these cookies and they were so yummy. I am a pretty experienced baker and I was looking for a soft, well balanced (sweetness wise) cookie and this was it. My fav go-to recipe for the kids. Great recipe, would make again.

I agree! I spent so much on smarties but loads just ended up getting thrown! Great recipe though

I adore your cookie recipes! I have been asked about making dairy free versions – would subbing the butter for vegan butter/spread make any difference to the recipe or should it be alright?

I use this recipe and have done them with m&ms, smarties and maltesers – I just freeze the bags of chocolate before adding 😊

In reply to Katy.

it shouldn’t, when I’ve run out of unsalted and have to turn to salted butter, I either use no salt or less salt.
I hope this helps 🙂

Hi Jane,
this is more of a general query. I’ve noticed that this recipe and a few others including peanut butter cookies and white choc mac cookies have corn flour in them but others like NYC choc chip, red velvet, and triple choc cookies have no corn flour.
Can I ask why that is, and what the difference it makes?
thank you 🙂
