This sounds like you may have over baked them – but also the flavour comes from the cocoa powder used so if it was a weaker one it may have been more bland. Also, personal taste is different! x

Hiya! No unfortunately you cannot just leave out ingredients, you would have to replace with the same amount of flour! And yes, this means 16 cookies = 8 sandwiches. Hope this helps! x

I recognise this is a very silly question but if I don’t want the biscuits to be chocolate, can I just omit the cocoa powder without making any other changes or would I need to increase any other amounts to make up for the missing 50g of powder? And with the yield being “16 cookies” – does that mean 16 cookies to make 8 sandwiches, or 32 cookies to make 16 sandwiches?
